when we pulled his shoes, and he was pretty
darn ouchy. Two weeks later... Ta Daaaa he was sound. I
would
use it again." -CM
"Here in New England, we seem to have terrain that is either rocks or mud. As a result, I see horses with sole tenderness and horses with thrush. I frequently recommend Durasole to my clients for horses with tender feet and horses with thrush. The stuff is economical, works well, and doesn't stain things a garish shade of purple" -CMN, DVM "I used Durasole last summer on my QH gelding, who'd been wearing pads due to a susceptibility to stone bruises, and who kept losing shoes. After Durasole he was shod without pads for the rest of the summer and fall right up until he got his snow treads on, and his feet were fine on all sorts of footing both here and in Vermont, some of it way less than ideal. He kept his shoes on better, too. Anecdotal, certainly, but I'm a satisfied customer." -SK "Unlike some of the other hoof preparations, this one actually has an applicator end that is functional and does not squirt out all over the place and drip down the sides of the bottle, making it simple to put it where you want it with no muss or fuss." -RB "Just wanted to let you know that my horse said thanks! He is in a pasture, low man on the totem pole, and had pulled his shoes several times in his frantic efforts to escape from the herd bully :). We decided to let him be barefoot, instead of tearing up his feet. He was incredibly sore after we pulled the shoes. He is OTT, so I doubt he has ever gone barefoot. -SR "I ordered it online, and got it in 3 days! I admit, I couldn't apply it as regularly as I was supposed to, since he is 30 miles away and work sometimes keeps me out past dark. Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a barefoot OTT TB who is sound!!! I can't tell you how pleased I am. It is great to call him,and see a horse trotting up sound, instead of head nodding, sore and pathetic." -BT Woody says thanks too - I ride on some rocky trails and he used to get stone bruises very easily so we always kept pads on his front feet to keep him sound. Took the pads off and did the Durasole regime back in May, and he's been padless and doing great ever since. -SK "Stormy got his winter shoes on Thursday - rim pads and borium up front, pulled 'em behind. Friday he was a teeny bit ouchy behind with some heat. He looked sound in the rubber footing in the indoor, but was less forward than usual and picking up his hinds quicker than normal. So I figured he'd need a little time off to toughen up. I slapped on some Durasole and turned him back out. This morning, less than 24 hours later, he was back to normal. Totally sound, very forward, using his hind end like he should. OK, so it's anecdotal, since we didn't have a control Stormy. :) Great stuff." -NM "I use it on 3 horses I board here - all have flat feet and were in terrible shape (poor farrier work). Got my farrier working on the horses and use of the Durasole. Much different looking hooves several months later and horses are no longer lame." -JK "I'm another vote suggesting Durasole. It has helped Kylee, who has *very* tender soles. She's been barefoot since the suspensory thing started, but will have shoes again as of next week. She is *definitely* one of those horses who *must* have shoes. And I don't particularly care what Ms. Strasser has to say about it" -CN "External products can be beneficial. Durasole is one when used IAW label directions. Some external dressings are useful to prevent (or at least reduce) loss of essential oils. But it's not a question of putting anything in, only of keeping what you already have" -BK "My current farrier applies Durasole, then uses a medicated sole packing that both fills the gap between the sole and pad, and keeps any nasties from growing there. With this technique, I no longer have to add iodine under the pads to keep thrush at bay." -MH "I hate for this to sound like an advertisement, but....... Mr. Stovall makes product called Durasole. I can attest, it DOES eradicate thrush in a few applications....unlike the copper naphthanate products. It also toughens (thickens) the sole enough for shod horses to go barefoot while staying sound." -JD "Lucy just did an hour, mostly trot and canter, on the cinder RR bed, a couple rocky trails, and the roadside. She was fine except for a very occasional ouchy step when she hit a rock just right. Her attitude was very good, and she is NOT stoic about her feet. Thank you, Durasole." -NM
"I tell
everyone
about it. With so many neighbors bent on doing the barefoot thing
over these rocky trails in this ongoing wet weather, a good sole
toughener
is a must." -ND
"With all this attention devoted to the concept of keeping horses barefooted, you'd think Durasole wold fit right into the generic, unspecialized, 'any horse, any discipline, any time' category. It's good stuff." -JJ "I still have some of the case we got from you and we plug the product as heavily as possible. Mainly because it works." -SL |
